The strength of CMOS is in its local Centres, which are located in all areas where there is a concentration of oceanographers and / or meteorologists.

Congress 2018

Halifax will be hosting the CMOS Congress in June 2018. A small team has been formed with people from Dalhousie University, DFO (BIO), MSC Dartmouth, and the private sector as well as some retirees. Initial preparations have begun but there is obviously still much work to do.

There are a variety of different areas in which members can become involved, from organizing social events to working on accommodations and facilities to developing communication and promotional materials. The time commitment can be as little or as much as you can offer, from working a few hours a month as part of a focused team on different aspects of the Congress to spending a few hours per week leading a small group working on a particular area or objective.

Long-serving members

CMOS would like to recognize folks with 25 (or more) years as CMOS members.  For some reason, HQ does not have the old membership records. Therefore, feel free to self-identify if you have been a member since the early 1990's or before. Email Jim Abraham (yhzweatherguy@gmail.com) with the details.
